LAKOTA WOLF PACK
If you don't like wolves, or believe they're nasty, vicious and dangerous animals, these pages are NOT for you, and I suggest you look elsewhere.
If, however, you share my opinion that we as humans have a lot to learn from wolf behaviour, and the manner in which their social groups look out for each other is a quality we could well emulate to our advantage, then I hope you enjoy these photos I took at a private wolf reservation not far from where we live.

November, 2007

We couldn't resist another trip to see our local wolf pack, and this time we took two of our grand-daughters and Justin. After checking in at Reception we decided to hike up to the reservation, following the 'Paws' trail. You can 'Pause' on the way to photograph wildlife; this one is a turkey vulture.

I'm the photographer, Gina is the Designated Wolf Enthusiast.
Here she's saying 'Hello' to Jasmine.
Yes, they're behind a wire fence, but they have a very large free-range area to themselves, and they hide in their forest well out of sight. It sometimes takes some effort to get their attention, but they are curious and will eventually come down to the fence to see the visitors.

These are Shania (Tundra pack) and Nightsong (Timberwolf pack)
