| The bridle path that was once a main route to the riverfront. We continue (south) to the right. |

Some of the ornate trees and shrubs in the once-landscaped gardens still thrive.

| We continued south. The old road here was never paved, and starts to climb ever steeper into the hill. | 
|
| We passed the last of the old hamlet ruins. | 
|
| The old farm road becomes quite rough, and gradually gets steeper. | 
|
|
One big surprise was the sight of fairly recent tire tracks.
4-Wheelers? I thought motorized vehicles were banned in this area? |
