What happened to some of the Old Pals who served with us? Fortunately some of those we remember from 47 Regt. Royal Artillery and the REME Workshops, stationed in Napier Barracks, Dortmund about 1957 - 1966 (or thereabouts) have found us, and their stories are presented here. |

My sincere apologies for not replying sooner; I really have no reasonable excuse other than pre-occupation with a sedate retirement! I originally started the website because I could find absolutely nothing on the Internet of 47 Regt at the time - it was as if it had never existed. The first few pages were devoted to the REME Workshops but I started to hear from gunners too, which surprised me but then I realised they couldn't find anything about 47 Regt either. Ken McNaughton was one of the first to write, but then I lost contact with him several years ago. I heard from George Harrison for the first time last year - he gave his e-mail address as xxxxx@hotmail.co.uk but I'm afraid I haven't heard from any of the others on your list. Yet. I hope you make contact with George - please let me know if you do. Also, I would appreciate any memories or stories that would help to fill up a few more pages. Best regards, John
