WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

L/Bdr. GEORGE HARRISON

'D'Troop

What happened to some of the
Old Pals who served with us?

Fortunately some of those we remember
from 47 Regt. Royal Artillery and the
REME Workshops, stationed in
Napier Barracks, Dortmund
about 1957 - 1966 (or thereabouts)
have found us, and
their stories are presented here.

Hi John,

Just been surfing all the pages on Napier barracks, almost brought
a tear to my eyes.
I landed in Dortmund summer 59, the regt were in the outer Hebrides
at the time, but what a great time i had while i was there.
I was with 47 gw regt, started in HQ Bat for about 6 months then
ended up in 4 SPHINX batt.
There was a mix of Nat service and regs, great times.
I was a L/BDR in D TROOP. I left December 64 on a pre-release course, soon
after that I believe, as you well know the corporal missile was no more.

I'm semi-retired now, worked in Plesseys for a while, then got a job with
the GPO, (BT of course), took early retirement, memories, makes me feel
young again.

Take care
