What happened to some of the Old Pals who served with us? Fortunately some of those we remember from 47 Regt. Royal Artillery and the REME Workshops, stationed in Napier Barracks, Dortmund about 1957 - 1966 (or thereabouts) have found us, and their stories are presented here. |

On three occasions I have attempted to make a guest book entry, the first ended up in the "Draft" of my Windows Mailbox. the second the same but was completely blank , you responded with "try again", the third occasion appears to have disappeared into the ether. At some point would like to make a contribution to your site but would rather wait for possible advice from you. Nevertheless,a very good site and very easy to use. The Old Soldier Stories are good tho' some need a little help with their memories. I am not ex-army but if your memory is still good the answer is in my surname. Thanks. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * April 3, 2008 John Walker wrote: Hi Peter, Many thanks for writing. Well, I guessed a relationship from the surname the first time. I don't know what you're doing wrong - I'm probably a considerable distance from your PC so can't even guess. I periodically enter dummy data into the guestbook just to make sure it's working, so I can't offer much in the way of advice. If you get your problems solved, I/we would be very pleased to hear from you, with anything you may have to offer - news, history, bio, stories, anecdotes etc. Why do we need help with our memories? Most of us think we're doing pretty good considering the passage of time. How did you find my website? Regards, John * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
