I got the idea for this section from some of the RAF 'Old Pals' websites, which seem to have quite a lot of them, many more than the Army sites, and from e-mail and telephone conversations with some of you over the last few years, and I feel as if these memories need to be shared. As the young character in the movie 'Gangs of New York' observes: If we don't tell our stories, nobody will ever know we were here.
If you served with 47 Regt RA between about 1957 to 1966 (i.e. the 'Corporal Missile' period) or perhaps served with any of the people mentioned on these pages at some time, I'd be grateful for any memories you may like to share.
The website is running on the Linux operating system, (that is, not Windows,) with an Apache server, configured from scratch. I use Galleon for the browser and Netscape for e-mail, which means that if you send me any Microsoft files as attachments, such as Word documents, it's a royal pain for me to extract the text from the formatting, so if you can I would prefer text-only files, such as plain unformatted text in an e-mail message.
I can convert most attached image files, but 'jpg' or 'jpeg' files are preferred because they can be compressed into a reasonable size for down-loading.
Many thanks for the stories and memories received to date.
