They're off! - Go-Karting.

This was the Le Mans style start of the last race of the day, sometime in 1961. Unfortunately my notes for this set of photos have long gone, and I have no idea where it was, although I have a vague recollection that it was at a camp used by the RAF somewhere near Gutersloh or Minden. Speed King!

There was no runway or parade ground, so the track was laid out Round-The-Houses style between the barracks and the vehicle garages. Speed King!

I seem to remember that no 47-ers were racing this day; we just went along to watch. I do remember that an innovative 'Ladies' race was run, with very slow times but none of the major mishaps we were hoping for. Speed King!
