Stories from 47 Regt days . . .
Lou Ramsbottom
One person I would like to remember is ASM Norman Moss (uncle Norman behind his back!). He was such a big influence in my life, the older brother I never had. He was quite a terrifying figure until you got to know him. I recall one incident after he got married and was living in Dortmund he bought a little Gogomobile to drive to work in and he was rear ended by a little aggressive German in a large Mercedes. Norman said that when he got out of the car it was worth the bump just to see the expression on the German guy's face. As you may recall Norman was 6ft 6ins and built like the proverbial brick building!.
Oh the times we had, good and bad! It's nice to look back on them even though it's something like 40 years ago.
