Decision Time!
It was moments like this that convinced us that it was about time we had a dog in our lives again.

Except this time there would be two. Spice, shown here with Gina, could not be adopted from the Humane Society unless we took his mother, Sugar, at the same time. They are inseperable, and at first glance look like twins.

We filed the application forms and hope to take them home in a few days' time.



Sugar is apparently 9 years old and Spice is 7 or 8. We don't know much about their history, except that they were in a 'sanctuary for unadoptable pets' virtually all their lives.

With dogs as old as this, very set in their ways, we realize we're stepping into the unkown, but we've got to know them both over the past few weeks and they seem to like us as much as we like them.

Although a little 'stand-offish', they are both extremely sociable and have been almost unbelievably gentle when fed treats by our four- and one-year-old grandchildren.
