New Friends.
No, we don't have any new family members. Yet. It's just that we felt this compelling urge to do something useful for the local animal shelter, and we volunteered to walk the dogs. This one is Penelope, a really sweet pitbull terrier, who was apparently found abandoned outside a Walmart store.

Nina and Nesta were bred for hunting, but didn't make the grade so were dumped at the animal shelter. Very nervous, but very gentle.
Lucy is another pit-bull mix, excitable but very friendly.

Lucy.
Lucy.

Sugar (in the green bandana) looks like a typical cross-breed between a Labrador and a Chow-Chow, about 9 yrs old. Spice (licking Gina's ear) is 6 or 7 and is Sugar's son. They have lived in animal shelters all their lives, although Sugar did once live with a family as a puppy. They are both affectionate but very aloof.

They get anxious if they're separated by only fifty feet or so.

This is the very affectionate 9-yr old 'Zeuss'

6-yr old 'Phoenix' whose previous owner apparently
thought he looked as if he might 'become aggressive'.
After six years?

So, how did you spend your day?
