A WORD OF CAUTION - To preserve quality I've left some of these files in their original format, which means they can be quite large, 1 to 3 Mbytes, and could be slow to load, depending on your Internet connection. However this does give you the option to right-click on the image (with Netscape-type browsers) and select 'View Image' to get a full size display.

Upstate New York Looking South-South-East Bear Mountain Bridge Looking North over Bear Mountain Bridge
HUDSON RIVER
The Google Earth image on the left shows Bear Mountain Bridge near the top, straddling the Hudson River, which seems to have been camouflaged by the Military so that naughty people can't find it. I've shown the image here just to illustrate the area that can be seen from the scenic lookout points in Harriman State Park.

The location from where these photos were taken is on the far left edge of the image, just south of the bridge road. If you want to find it yourself using Google Earth, the co-ordinates are 41.18.46.36N - 73.59.52.30W which is just below the lookout tower at the top of the hill.

You can click on various areas of the image to see that view from the lookout point. If you know where your 'Status Bar' is there will be a short description there. IE users may see a little pop-up.
