Bugger! Bugger!
Honda Gold Wing - 1981 Interstate - GL1100

I purchased the 'bike in 1995 with only 32,000 miles on the clock. The one previous owner kept the bike in good condition and it hadn't been abused, but he obviously wasn't mechanically inclined. The water pump seeped and a poor attempt had been made to repair it. Fortunately the oil seal was leaking into the cooling water side, so no damage had been done. I replaced the seals and after a couple of attempts at rebuild it seemed to work OK.
Likewise the cables had never been greased, resulting in a broken clutch cable just as I was pulling into the driveway after a trip to Woodstock with Gina riding pillion. I had never been able to understand why gear-changing had been so rough.
