FULLER'S - London Pride
England Nice and mild. Not as strong as ESB and doesn't go flat when left in the bottle. |

HAANDBRYGGERIET - Winter Ale
Norway What a surprise - the only words I can think of to describe it is 'a champagne stout' since it's bottle-conditioned. Very strong (9%) and strong-tasting, but extremely pleasant, although it could become an expensive habit since it's about five or six time the cost of a decent bottle of wine ($12 for a 1-pint bottle). |

INNIS & GUNN - Original
Scotland Not what I was expecting. The 'hints of toffee & vanilla' are a bit more than just hints and can take you by surprise. I can't say I don't like it, but it's a bit sweet and probably better suited as a 'dessert' beverage than as an accompaniment to a meal. |

PETRUS - Blond Ale
Belgium Fizzy and sharp. More like lemonade sodapop. |
PETRUS - Dubbel Bruin
Belgium A very nice smooth brown ale, although a little sweet for my own taste. |
PETRUS - Gouden Tripel
Belgium Like all the other Petrus beers I've tried, it's very fizzy. A nice blond pale ale though, very smooth and a stronger taste than I expected. |

PETRUS - Oud Bruin
Belgium If this is supposed to be a brown ale it's a bit of a failure. Not very smooth and tasted like it's been watered down a bit. |
PETRUS - Speciale Ale
Belgium Fizzy, like most Petrus ales, but not a bad pale ale. |

SAMUEL SMITH'S - Nut Brown Ale
England The standard by which all nut brown ales should be judged. |
St Peter's - India Pale Ale
England IPAs have become very popular (at least where I live in New York) but most of the American brews are typically a bit over-hopped. This one sets the standard by which IPAs should be judged. |

THEAKSTON - Old Peculiar
England My favorite with Fish'n'Chips. |
WELLS - Bombadier Premium Ale
England This one was a surprise - well hopped without being overdone. Full body and nice strong taste. An excellent winter (bitter?) ale. Certainly lives up to the description on the label. |
